Working part time with Citizens Advice in Basingstoke has been a real eye opener.

Did you know:

Behind the doors at the top of the stairs at The Discovery Centre, there are 77 volunteers and 18 paid staff helping anyone who contacts them about any issue.

They have access to the very latest information and advice through Citizens Advice, information system, that gets updated daily.

No-one is ever turned away

They are open 6 days a week including late opening on a Wednesday - 18.30hrs

There are 8 very busy interview rooms, that are almost always in use.

The training room is nearly always fully booked

Contact by possible volunteers are welcome, free training is given

Volunteers are not expected to do a full week

They are recruiting at the moment asking for Students to help cover July, August and September. All will be fast tracked with training and then work with our skilled advisers.

Last year they helped over 12,400 people in our community.

Whether you are asking for help or offering to help you are always welcome..
