I didn't think that shops like this existed anymore.. This is a proper old-fashioned ironmonger's shop, which sells things like tools and string and furniture polish, and mothballs, and washers, and pastry brushes, and all the things which would take ages to find if you went to a big homeware superstore. True, they don't have knock-down prices, or big sales, but the staff are properly knowledgeable about what they're selling, and can order in specific things, usually within a day or two. It's best to go in on a weekday, though, 'cos it can sometimes take a while to get served on a saturday, and you get a bit less time to chat..
