"Where did you really go!!!!"

A review of The Winkle by Ray - Sunday 29th of June 2008

I find the last comment quite offensive and would say that all newcomers are welcome at the winkle. The locals are very friendly and if anyone is made to feel un welcome then maybe it is warranted. Having drunk in the pub for the last 20 years I can honestly say that this is one of the best pubs in Basingstoke and the new landlord and landlady do all they can to make sure everyone has a great night and feel comfortable. Im sure if they knew how you felt they would have been even more welcoming.
In the time period you visited the pub live music had only been on for a couple of weeks. I can assure you there are a lot of new faces so maybe you should give it another try!!!!
This pub has never been so good and making comments like that on a public website is not helpful!!!!!!!!!
