Dear Dr P D Button,

You accurately stated, we correctly diagnosed a leaking radiator on your car and replaced it early February 2006. You also stated it leaked from the moment you got home!, But it was over 5 months later that you returned your car to our garage complaining of a water leak from the radiator?

As all our work is accompanied by 12 months parts & labour warranty, a new radiator was offered under warranty & completely free of charge but you declined to accept this offer.

We dispute your accusation that the wrong radiator was fitted to your vehicle, this has been checked & confirmed to be the correct radiator for your car by our parts supplier even though it is not aesthetically identical to the manufacturers fitted item, it is a direct replacement part.

You were informed that the original radiator failure “may” have been caused by a leaking head gasket problem, It was never diagnosed or confirmed as you have stated. This is however is a common problem with the 24 valve, V6 Ford Granada’s.

As to not returning your money: All our work has 12 months parts & labour warranty, We cannot understand why the car was not returned to us for the repair as you still had 7 months warranty remaining.

If you are in doubt about any of our services, we suggest you contact The Citizens Advice Bureau or consult a solicitor as we are independently arbitrated by the RAC whose decision is final.
